Warranties,
Policies & Procedures

CTI Solar offers a warranty package on all solar systems sold. Alongside the consumers guarantees that are applied under Australian Consumer Law your rights also sit under this warranty outlined below.

Whole of System Warranty

CTI Solar will offer a minimum 5 year whole of system performance and operation warranty on the solar system installed, see below for detail:

Workmanship

– 5 years

Solar Panels

– minimum of 10 year product and 25 year performance, specified in quote

Inverter

– Minimum of 5 years and up to 10 years, specified in quote.

Balance of system

– All materials required to complete the installation besides solar panels and
Inverter come with a 5 year warranty

We recommend a 2 yearly service and inspection, however this is not mandatory for this warranty

Warranty Exclusions

CTI Solar does not warrant its products from defects or damage caused by:

  • Materials or work not provided by CTI Solar
  • Unauthorized or abnormal use or negligence
  • Damage caused by fauna, flora or building movement
  • Exposure to environmental conditions, for example, lighting, storms.

Inverter Warranty

This covers the cost of labour and materials for any repair or replacement of a faulty inverter during the agreed period, beginning on the installation date. If the inverter is replaced the remainder of the warranty will be transferred to the replacement Inverter. The inverter warranty period will be specified in the quote, if the warranty period is not specified the warranty period will be 5 years.

Solar Panel Warranty

A defects warranty period of minimum 10 years is offered due to defects caused by workmanship or faulty materials. The term “linear warranty” warrants that loss should be less than 2.5% in the first year, and thereafter the loss degrades linearly. The loss ratio should be less than 20% up to 25 years. Unless otherwise specified, all other manufacturer’s panel performance warranties stipulate that the solar panels will be working at 80% of their original system efficiency output for 25 years. This excludes the affects of soiling.

Warranty Claims Procedure

Please call Jeremy on 0438807383 with any concerns regarding the performance of your system or for a warranty claim. Alternatively please email sales@ctisolar.com.au we will respond to your claim within 2 business days. If required an electrician will attend site to assess the claim within 5 business days.

Maintenance

We recommend that an inspection and maintenance is carried out every 2 years. You are responsible for maintaining an internet connection to the inverter so that alerts and alarms remain enabled.

Contract

To accept a quote, please sign and date the bottom of the quote and submit or email to CTI Solar via email, sales@ctisolar.com.au, or a CTI Solar representative can pick up from you. Please arrange to pay a 10% deposit by calling 0438807383. Your deposit is considered acceptance of the quote and the quote becomes the contract. We offer a ten day cooling off period. After the cooling off period, we will then submit a SEG application to SA Power Networks for approval. Once the approval comes through we will then schedule an
installation date. If SA Power Networks does not provide approval we will provide a full refund of the deposit.

Electricity Retailer additional charges

You will need to contact your electricity retailer to arrange installation of a new electricity meter to suit solar export. The electricity retailer may require the installation of a meter isolator, there will be an additional cost for us to install a meter isolator if required. The electricity retailer may also charge to install a new meter to suit solar export.

Variations to original quote

Our quote includes all necessary work to enable the solar system to operate excluding a meter isolator if required by the electricity retailer, see “Electricity Retailer additional charges”. However if the meter panel contains asbestos, this will need to be removed and changed to a non asbestos panel. This will be an additional cost that will be quoted if required. In most cases this will be identified during the site inspection and included in the original quote. The original quote assumes that there is a WI FI router already on the premises that will enable the Inverter to connect to, as well as having any security or firewall disabled. If the WiFi signal strength is insufficient or you have a complicated network, IT support may be required at your expense. Any return visits to connect or reconnect your inverter to you WiFi after the day of installation will incur a callout fee.

Final Payment

Final payment is required within 2 business days of completion of our work, which is the installation of the solar system. This excludes the installation of the new electricity meter, this is carried out by your electricity retailer.

STC’s – Small Scale Technology Certificates

The STC’s as mentioned on your quote are a federal government financial incentive. The STC’s have been discounted from the total cost of the solar system. By signing the quote you agree to assign the STC’s to CTI Solar therefore reducing the out of pocket expenses as per quote you have received. STC price is subject to change. CTI Solar will complete the necessary documents to claim the STC’s however we will require the solar system owner to sign the STC form on the day of the installation, once completed.
